The Writers’ Centre at the Dragon Hall

Our Principal Acoustics & Theatre Consultant Ian Rees has worked on numerous projects, but the historic Dragon Hall, Norwich is particularly exciting.  This merchant’s hall dates from 1430 and is part of the “Norwich Twelve” – recognised as one of the city’s most important medieval buildings.

Now a Writers’ Centre is being established at the site as part of Norwich’s UNESCO City of Literature status.  With the Dragon Hall at its heart, this base for writers and literary events will open in Summer 2018.

Adrian James Acoustics is proud to be part of the building’s transformation and Ian is designing a sophisticated yet simple to use sound system, as well as advising on other acoustical challenges.   The Hall is a celebrated part of Norwich, so naturally every care is being taken to ensure a sympathetic and discreet design, blending into this wonderful Grade I listed building.
