Jenny Wilkin graduated from the University of Surrey in July 2013 with the Tonmeister degree in Music and Sound Recording. The Tonmeister degree incorporated a mixture of engineering and music modules, including audio engineering, video engineering, recording techniques, acoustics, electroacoustics, sound synthesis and jazz studies, as well as practical modules such as portfolio of recordings and audio labs.
During her four-year degree, Jenny completed an industrial placement year at Adrian James Acoustics where she worked on a variety of projects, including those involving environmental and architectural acoustics, sound insulation and performance spaces in schools, computer modelling of auditoria as well as contributing to the set-up, running and support of the ANC Advance site.
She joined AJA full-time in August 2013, and is now a full Member of the Institute of Acoustics. She is accredited under the ANC registration scheme to take sound insulation tests in accordance with Approved Document E, and continues to run the ANC Advance website. Over the last year she contributed to the design and set up of the Irish equivalent of the Advance website ‘VISIT’.
She had recently completed the Institute of Acoustics Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control, taking modules in Building Acoustics and Environmental Acoustics, and is working on a number of projects for education buildings, both schools and further education, as well as student residences for Universities.
