David Canning BA MA MEd (Audiology)
Associate Consultant
David is a qualified teacher of the Deaf and Educational Audiologist, with more than 20 years experience in the Educational sector at all levels. He worked in the University Sector for fifteen years, as a Teaching Fellow in the department of Language and Communication Science at City University, London, and lately at University College London. He has been involved in National and International research and consultancy sponsored by the business, the public sectors and by research councils. As a much sought after Expert Witness, David has contributed to more than seventy tribunals as an Educational Audiologist.
David was closely involved in the international collaboration leading to the ANSI standards on Educational Acoustics and was a technical author and adviser for DfES Building Bulletin 93 “Acoustics of Schools”. David is a regular contributor to international conferences on topics related to Hearing Impairment, Classroom Acoustics, Soundfield Amplification, Speech and Teaching. He is actively involved in research into both classroom acoustics and auditory processing difficulties and is currently working with Adrian James on the Exeter Royal Academy for the Deaf.
